Frequently asked questions

What is anticipatory bail and when should I apply?

Anticipatory bail is a court direction that you be released on bail if arrested. Apply the moment you learn an FIR is registered or likely — before police act. Courts weigh the seriousness of allegations, your cooperation and flight risk.

Can a false FIR against me be cancelled?

Yes. The High Court can quash an FIR under Section 528 BNSS (earlier 482 CrPC) when the allegations, even taken at face value, disclose no offence — or when the case is manifestly malicious. Settlement-based quashing is also possible in many private disputes.
